GCSE Results 2011

For the eighth consecutive year we are pleased to announce our best ever results for our year 11 students. Some 89% of students achieved 5 GCSEs at A*-C grade and 48% achieved this with English and Mathematics. Students also recorded our highest average and total point scores from their exams, reinforcing the quality of their achievements. We are particularly pleased for our young gentlemen, with the proportion of boys achieving 5 top grades including English and Mathematics rising by 11%.

There were some exceptional individual results with 5 students gaining 6 or more A* equivalent grades. Shuhid Miah indeed managed 8 A*s, 1 A and 5 Bs, whilst Ben Jones had 6 A*s, 5As and a B and Sophie Threlfall 6 A*s, 2 Bs and 3 Cs. A particular mention must go to Carmen Lo who arrived from Hong Kong a year ago speaking no English and amassed 4 A*s an A a B and a C.
