Homework, should be considered, independent study. The ability to study independently is imperative if a pupil is to produce performances of a high standard whether this is in class, examinations or practical experiences.
It is important that as pupils move through the Key Stages they become more independent learners and homework will aid this transition. All subjects will regularly set homework and parents can expect this to become increasingly demanding as the pupil progresses. Each pupil has a personal planner in which they are expected to record their homework tasks and should be countersigned by parents. The planner forms a simple but effective communication between home and School.
