Careers guidance is available to every student at Bebington High Sports College. Initially in year 9 you have to make important decisions about your future and choose subjects that best suit your individual needs. In Years 10 and 11 students follow courses that promote their self confidence, occupational awareness and job application skills, bridging the gap between student life and the working world.
Our school has excellent links with local employers and Connexions who support our Careers Events, Mock Interview Programme and Work Experience.
On 20th January, over 30 exhibitors including employers, universities, colleges and training providers, displayed literature, materials and had key staff on hand to offer advice and guidance to the students about higher education, career options and training opportunities. This was the perfect chance for organisations and industry meet their prospective employees and leaders, and was a valuable opportunity for students and parents alike to explore the wide scope of career options open to them. It was also a chance to keep up to date with career prospects, entry requirements, courses of study and professional and vocational training by talking individually to those currently involved in their specialist area. Our exhibitors informed students all about the career opportunities they offer, CV writing, interview coaching, personal development assessments as well as recruiting people on site - as one of our students recently found out when she was offered an apprenticeship during a mock interview at the school!
