Bebington High Sports College recently ran a food survival guide session for its 6th form students, perfect for those who are about to embark on university life or move out of the family home. They took part in a great interactive demonstration to provide them with the skills and knowledge to create nutritional dishes, once their college, university or work day is over.
The Food Survival Guide is a short cooking course, led by a Chartwells executive chef, Darren Tinkler, that teaches students how to cook easily, healthily and within a budget.
Darren came into the school and by using a wok, taught the students how easy it is to prepare affordable food dishes at home. He created a quick, nutritious, Vegetable Balti and a tasty Jerk Chicken Wrap for the students to sample, provided them with the recipes and gave advice on how to keep to a healthy balanced diet in the future. Bebington High Sports College actively try to provide students with additional life skills to help ensure diet and nutrition remain an integral part of their future.
